New Admixture Solutions For Construction Industry

07-11-2007 : BASF's new admixture solutions for construction industry

KUALA LUMPUR: Construction chemicals manufacturer BASF yesterday unveiled two new admixture products for the construction industry: sureTEC (Super Retention Technology) and Glenium 8008 UHS (Ultra High Strength).

Its group vice president and head of BASF’s Construction Chemicals Business Unit, Asia Pacific, Dr Boris Gorella, said: “The new products will assist our customers to meet their sustainability targets by improving workability of their construction operations, as well as energy efficiency and durability of the finished structures.”

SureTEC has created a new benchmark in concrete workability, helping concrete producers gain more control over workability between the batching plant and the placement site for two hours or more - higher than previously known levels, BASF said in a statement on Nov 7.

The product was being use in construction projects by the Genting group, such as the Resorts World at Sentosa Island and the Ipoh-Padang Besar Double Track, it added.

The Glenium 8008, meanwhile, delivers concrete mixes with final strengths of over 100Mpa. Ultra high strength concrete figures largely in urban and inner-city developments, allowing for leaner design structures and assists designers and architects in maximising space.
